PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A 13-year-old boy wearing a costume was hit by a car and seriously injured in Southeast Portland Friday night.
Portland police said they responded to the scene on reports of a crash around 7:45 p.m. near Southeast Hawthorne Boulevard and Southeast 22nd Avenue. SE Hawthorne Blvd then closed for about an hour between SE 21st and SE 23rd avenues before reopening.
“The person struck was a 13-year-old boy wearing a costume, so it appears to be Halloween related,” said Sgt. Kevin Allen, a Portland Police Bureau spokesperson. “His family was at the scene and they went to the hospital with him.”
