Bombardier’s Global 8000 business jet flew from Montreal to Nice in just over six hours on June 5, carrying passengers to the Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix, setting the aircraft’s first official speed record on the transatlantic route.
The flight demonstrated the jet’s top speed of Mach 0.95 and its 8,000-nautical-mile range, which Bombardier says makes it the fastest civil aircraft currently in production.
