A team of researchers has detected an alarming methane leak on the Antarctic seabed, raising alarm bells about a possible environmental catastrophe.

The discovery occurred off the coast of the Antarctic Peninsula, where scientists, equipped with sonar technology and autonomous submersible vehicles, identified bubbles of methane rising from the seabed.
