It’s shaping up to be an active end to the week across much of the country, with everything from soaking rain in the Pacific Northwest to severe storms and flash flood threats in the Southern Plains. Meanwhile, chilly, showery weather continues to hang around the Great Lakes before easing into the weekend.
Stormy Setup Across the Plains and Arklatex
A developing storm system will bring rounds of showers and thunderstorms from the southern Plains into the Arklatex region beginning Thursday night. As moisture streams north from the Gulf of Mexico and several upper-level disturbances move through, the setup becomes increasingly favorable for heavy rainfall and severe storms.
