Brazilian researchers have identified rings forming around a large asteroid located between Saturn and Uranus. This discovery has greatly intrigued scientists.
Rings Around (2060) Chiron
2060 Chiron is a celestial object approximately 180 kilometers in diameter that orbits the Sun between Saturn and Uranus. It was first observed in October 1977 by Charles T. Kowall using the 1.2-meter telescope at Palomar Observatory in California. Initially considered an asteroid—the most distant ever observed at that time—Kowall did not rule out the possibility that it could be a comet.
