Hurricane Melissa isn’t done yet. After hammering Jamaica and Cuba, the storm has turned its sights on the Bahamas — and it’s moving faster now, racing northeast across the islands with 90 mph winds and life-threatening storm surge.
At last check, the hurricane’s center was about 80 miles southeast of the central Bahamas, spinning toward Bermuda at roughly 16 mph. The southeastern and central Bahamas remain under a Hurricane Warning, and conditions there will stay dangerous through tonight.
