California is completely free of drought and abnormal dryness for the first time since 2000. The state has also experienced periods with less than 1% of abnormal dryness in 2005 and 2011. This is the first time in more than two decades that no areas are classified as dry.
California experienced its wettest winter and one of its wettest holiday seasons on record before hitting a major milestone this week. The state has endured some of the worst droughts and record-breaking wildfires in recent years.
