WASHINGTON (WCSC) – Citadel professor Platte Moring was confirmed by the United States Senate as the next Inspector General for the Department of Defense on Thursday.
In his new role, Moring will oversee accountability and integrity across the nation’s largest federal agency. Moring’s nomination was received by the Senate in June of 2025.
When testifying before the U.S. Armed Services Committee in September, some of Moring’s then-current students were in attendance, as well as three graduates who were involved with The Citadel’s pre-law society, known as the Inn of Court, while they were cadets.
