Console Exclusives Are Dying Out, And That’s Okay | Gaming

Console exclusivity has long been a plague on the video game industry, particularly for gamers who miss out on incredible experiences simply because they can’t afford multiple high-end consoles. Console exclusivity has reached a peak in recent years, with PlayStation‘s flagship titles becoming staples of their company, Microsoft acquiring Bethesda, and making its first new IP in 25 years an Xbox exclusive. It’s fostered the “console wars,” creating a literal microcosm that’s on par with politics. It’s not fun, and it’s not in the spirit of gaming.
