Christmas is officially just a week away. With the upcoming holiday, people are starting to pack their bags and plan their travel. However, the next week could bring hazardous conditions to some states, making travel extremely difficult.
The Climate Prediction Center is warning of “major holiday travel hazards” including flooding, landslides and heavy snow.
This prediction comes as AAA predicts record-breaking travel numbers during this year’s holiday period. Over 122 million people are expected to travel more than 50 miles from December 20 to January 1, 2026. Almost 110 million of those people will travel by car.
Wintery weather, snow and even heavy rain could impact both land and air travel through the end of 2025.
