Los Angeles received 2.54” of welcome rain over the month of February as of the 24th, thanks primarily to two weather systems during the early and middle parts of the month. This rainfall was much-needed relief after the dramatic wildfires that decimated portions of the area in early January.

Drought conditions

The recent wetter pattern resulted in some improvements to drought conditions in portions of California as well as western Nevada. While the rains were welcome, totals have still fallen generally below average for the month. This pales in comparison to February 2024, when Los Angeles received over 12” of total rainfall.
