A potent weather system has been tracking across the country through the Easter weekend, bringing severe thunderstorms, snow and ice. On Sunday, the cold front associated with the low-pressure system that is moving northeast over Atlantic Canada will bring heavy rain, some thunderstorms and will usher in chilly temperatures across the East Coast. The upper atmosphere is also playing a role here as a trough plunges south.
Looking forward, though, after this system moves offshore, a period of settled weather is expected across much of the country.
