Multiple environmental stressors are putting the over 20,000 species of bees around the world at risk, including habitat loss, climate change and pesticides.
And now, a new study published in the journal Environmental Science & Technology shows that perfluorooctanesulfonate (PFOS), otherwise known as “forever chemicals,” can accumulate in honeybee populations and transfer to their offspring, as well as the honey they produce.
