A low pressure system off the northern California coast will trudge slowly southward through the upcoming weekend. Its counterclockwise circulation will help to dredge up plentiful moisture from the Pacific Ocean, placing most of California in line for an atmospheric river event.
Northern and Central California At Risk Through Friday
The National Weather Service (NWS) has highlighted widspread potential flooding concerns. Locations in line for potential heavy rainfall include the Lake Tahoe area, the Fresno-Tulare foothills and Lower Sierra, the Mariposa-Madera foothills and Lower Sierra, and the Yosemite Valley.
