Tropical Depression Two is edging closer to the eastern coast of Mexico, with forecasters warning of heavy rainfall, gusty winds, and the potential for dangerous flooding and mudslides in parts of northeastern Mexico.

As of 8:00 AM EDT (1200 UTC), the center of the depression was located at latitude 20.0°N and longitude 96.0°W, just offshore in the Bay of Campeche. The storm is moving west-northwest at 9 mph (15 km/h) and is expected to take a northwestward turn later today, bringing it inland over eastern Mexico by late Monday or tonight.
This morning, an Air Force Hurricane Hunter aircraft, along with ship observations, investigated the system and determined that while the depression is disorganized, likely lacking a well-defined center of circulation, it still contains increased winds.
