The protoplanetary disks captured on camera are designated Tau 042021 and Oph 163131. They sit 450 light years and 480 light years from Earth, respectively. Tau 042021 is located in the Taurus constellation, while Oph 163131 can be found amid the Ophiuchus constellation.
The images released by NASA, ESA, and CSA are a compilation of data from James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), Hubble Space Telescope, and the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA). Each is outfitted with sensors capable of imaging different components of the electromagnetic spectrum.
