No injuries were reported due to the incident, according to Eglin Air Force Base officials.
EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla — A 300-gallon fuel tank fell off an F-16 fighter jet flying over a residential area in Niceville, Florida, Tuesday morning, according to officials at Eglin Air Force Base.
Air Force officials said the incident happened around 11 a.m. and no injuries were reported.
The fuel tank was dropped from a 96th Test Wing F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft, according to the officials.
On Tuesday, Air Force Airmen were cleaning up the impacted area and working to safely remove the fuel tank.
