The island has been without jet flights since October 2022, when runway conditions made jet operations unsafe. Since then, commercial flights have been restricted to Azul Linhas Aéreas and Voepass Linhas Aéreas, the only airlines operating regular flights to the destination using turboprops—specifically, the ATR 72 model.

With the precautionary suspension of Voepass operations ordered by ANAC last night, Azul remains the only airline serving the island.
