Lockheed Martin Corp. finalized a federal contract to produce nearly 300 more F-35 Lightning II fighter jets, which will be assembled in Fort Worth.
The U.S. Department of War announced the contract, worth about $24.3 billion, Sept. 29. Under the contract, Lockheed will build 294 F-35 jets across two phases. The planes will be used by the U.S. Air Force, Marine Corps and Navy, along with foreign U.S. allies.
