Defense Department (also called Department of War) components have been told to “take immediate action to recognize and reward our very best civilians with meaningful monetary awards” under existing authorities under the GS, Federal Wage System, SES and Senior Professional systems.
A memo from Secretary Pete Hegseth said that such awards are to be made by January 30, “independent of any awards previously executed.”
