Next year, NASA plans to launch the Artemis II mission, the program that will mark the first human return to the Moon since the Apollo era. This mission will be the first to carry a crew aboard the SLS rocket and the Orion capsule, and will last approximately ten days.
Although the launch is scheduled for April 2026 “at the latest,” according to sources at the US space agency, there is a possibility that it could be moved up to February if all goes well.
During the flight, the craft will follow a free-return trajectory, fly by the Moon, and return to Earth, but without landing on the Moon.
