When Mike Pence’s aircraft hydroplaned on the runway in New York and put it out of service while he was on the campaign trail in 2016, private aviation firm Elevate Jet came in with a contingency plan.
“Pence’s entourage had to leave at 6 a.m. the next day, so in three hours we had another aircraft arriving, in full livery,” recalled Greg Raiff, founder and CEO of the Elevate Aviation—Elevate Jet’s Miami-based parent company—and a veteran of more than 30 years in the air charter business.
There is no end to logistics when clients include transporting politicians and tours of the world’s most popular musicians, including Shakira.
“You need a Plan B and a Plan C,” Raiff said.
