A powerful spring storm system will approach the eastern United States early next week. As it moves east, conditions across parts of the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast may become favorable for severe thunderstorms.

What Is Driving Monday’s Severe Threat
A strong upper-level storm system moving out of the Mississippi, Ohio, and Tennessee valleys will push east on Monday, helping fuel severe weather across parts of the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast. At the same time, a powerful cold front will approach from the west while warm, humid air surges northward ahead of it.
