According to research by the University of Maine, warning signs are evident worldwide, from redfin pickerel in Maine’s Kennebec River to sturgeon in the Great Lakes. The research covers a vast number of rivers worldwide and analyzes 10,631 freshwater fish species.
The study of these rivers made one thing clear: nearly one-third of freshwater fish face annihilation.
