Winters are warming nearly twice as fast as other seasons, with New England’s winter temperatures rising by more than 4°C since 1900.
Winters in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, and Vermont have warmed by more than 5°C. Except in Rhode Island, minimum temperatures are rising faster than maximum temperatures, with New England’s annual minimums up 2.77°C. And about 80% of that warming since the late 1980s.
