BARK RIVER, Mich. (WLUC) – Escanaba Township Fire’s new K9 is all set to begin his arson detection training thanks to an anonymous donation. The nonprofit EmberTrack K9 held a fundraiser to further support Jet’s detection training, which starts next week.
The nonprofit invited Delta County to meet its new arson dog-in-training on Sunday at the Highland Golf Club in Bark River. People could have spaghetti lunch and browse raffle buckets.
Highland Golf Club General Manager Gretchen Grzyb-Tallman says an arson dog will be reassuring.
“Is going to bring the community a little bit of information that we need for some of the stuff that’s been going on, and we’ve never had an arson dog here,” she said. “So, it’s something new we’re working around to get used to.”
