Moisture streaming in from the Pacific will keep unsettled weather in place across the West, producing periods of heavy rain at the coast and lower elevations along with significant snowfall in the mountains.
Across the northern Plains and Upper Midwest, a mix of winter precipitation, including snow, sleet, and freezing rain, will lead to dangerous travel conditions into early Monday. At the same time, dry air and strong, gusty winds over the south and central High Plains are contributing to elevated to critical fire weather conditions, increasing the potential for rapid fire spread.
