A person connected to last month’s shooting of New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd was taken into custody in Buffalo, more than 370 miles from the alleged attack, authorities said Tuesday.
Frederick Green, a 20-year-old Bronx resident, was arrested on Monday and booked on suspicion of attempted murder, assault, and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, according to a New York Police Department statement and court records.
The U.S. Marshals Service said in a statement that they assisted the New York Police Department in the apprehension of a “person of interest” in Buffalo. That Marshals’ statement did not mention Green by name.
Marshals “worked with NYPD detectives to locate and arrest the suspect, who fled the scene following the shooting,” the statement added.
