“Above-average temperatures dominated much of the global surfaces,” according to the National Centers for Environmental Information’s (NCEI) February climate report. “On land, notable temperature departures of at least 2.0°C (3.6°F) were present across much of the contiguous U.S., southern Canada, the Arctic, northern Africa, western and southern Europe, southern and eastern Asia, and parts of Antarctica.”
