A strong storm system is expected to bring multiple rounds of strong to severe storms across southern Minnesota and parts of Wisconsin this afternoon.
The storms will bring the potential of large hail, tornadoes, and damaging winds. Isolated storms may also spread across the southern Plains this evening.
The Main Risk Areas and Severe Weather Hazards
A strengthening storm system will trigger thunderstorms across southern Minnesota into northern Iowa and central Wisconsin this afternoon.
The primary threats include large to very large hail, potentially reaching 2-3 inches in diameter, along with damaging wind gusts and tornadoes.
Conditions will be favorable for these risks especially across southern Minnesota.
