Rep. Brad Finstad joins House DOGE caucus to slash federal spending, bureaucracy – Post Bulletin

ROCHESTER — GOP Rep. Brad Finstad said he has joined the House DOGE Caucus to support a newly created advisory team led by Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy that aims to slash spending, regulations and personnel within the federal government.

“I am eager to join my colleagues in working together to address the growing national debt by reining in reckless government spending,” said Finstad, a Republican from New Ulm, in his newsletter to First Congressional District constituents.

The Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, first announced by President-elect Donald Trump in November, promises to be a much-watched aspect of Trump’s approaching presidency. Musk, one of two billionaires to lead to the effort, has said he can find more than $2 trillion in savings — about a third of annual federal government spending.
