Nearly 4 million people across portions of at least six states are under red flag warnings on Tuesday. “A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly,” cautions the North Platte, Nebraska National Weather Service office. “A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.”
