By the afternoon, most of the West Coast will be wet as moderate to heavy rain falls. Higher elevations will see between several inches to several feet of snow Wednesday into Thursday.

Strong winds that could gust up to 70 mph, along with heavy snowfall, will make traveling nearly impossible across the Sierra Nevada. Power outages are possible because of heavy snowfall rates and strong winds. One to three feet of snow or more could fall in some spots.
