A strengthening low-pressure system is moving east across the Deep South today. Increasing moisture and warmer air ahead of the system are creating a favorable setup for stronger storms. The atmosphere is expected to become more unstable through the day.
Where The Severe Risk Is Highest
The Storm Prediction Center has placed parts of far southeast Alabama, southern Georgia, and northern Florida under a Slight Risk (level 2/5) for severe weather. This includes the Florida Panhandle and areas along and north of the I-4 corridor in Florida. A Tornado Watch is already in effect for portions of the region.
