Bottled Water’s Hidden Contaminant
A sweeping new study led by Concordia University researchers, published in the Journal of Hazardous Materials, brings microplastics in bottled water into the spotlight.
Lead author Sarah Sajedi, working with Chunjiang An and Zhi Chen from Concordia’s Department of Building, Civil, and Environmental Engineering, found that plastic particles can infiltrate the human body and potentially lodge in organs.
