For years, sleep and health experts have debated the effects of changing the clock twice a year. Many agree that it would be best to abandon seasonal time adjustments altogether and keep a single schedule year-round — preferably Standard Time.
However, the opposite idea — living permanently under Daylight Saving Time — has also been tested. In fact, the United States tried it once in the 1970s, and the results were far from what anyone expected.
