Tropical Storm Melissa is starting to look more organized today as it crawls over the warm waters of the Caribbean. The latest update from the National Hurricane Center puts the storm about 220 miles southeast of Kingston, Jamaica, and 280 miles southwest of Port-au-Prince, Haiti.
Tropical Storm Melissa is expected to become Major Hurricane Melissa by 8 AM on Sunday.
Some hurricane models show a Category 3 or 4 hurricane slowly passing right over the southern side of Jamaica. Such a path would almost certainly be catastrophic, as over 2 feet of rain and pic.twitter.com/fd43SvzFPl
