Last year, July was hot in California! Extremely hot. The month registered as the hottest month on record for the state. Looking ahead to the upcoming month, parts of California may experience a reprieve from the blistering heat. The latest modelling from the Climate Prediction Centre shows that most of the contiguous U.S. will be above average through the month ahead, with the California coast being the only area excluded. This area has an equal chance of being above average or below average in July 2025.

Interior California is another story, though, as some of this region is very likely to be above average and see scorching temperatures this month.
