Canberra plans to operate four converted G550 business jets for long-range intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance alongside other assets including Boeing P-8A maritime patrol aircraft and Northrop Grumman MQ-4C uncrewed vehicles.
A second business jet converted for intelligence and surveillance operations has arrived in Australia for military service.
The Australian Defence Force (ADF) took delivery of the L3Harris MC-55 Peregrine at the Royal Australian Air Force’s (RAAF’s) Edinburgh base in South Australia on 25 March – the second example in Canberra’s growing fleet of long-range intelligence collection aircraft.
