A low pressure system and associated cold front is moving across the Plains and Upper Midwest Friday, bringing a wintry mix to parts of the Northeast and driving the severe weather threat across the central U.S.
Storms will ramp up around late afternoon into the evening across parts of Plains, southern Iowa, and portions of central Illinois. Storms will merge into a line that will bring strong winds and hail.
