Voyagers 1 and 2 continue to push the limits of science and engineering to the bounds of the solar system and beyond. Both spacecraft were launched weeks apart from each other in 1977, and were primarily designed to study the outer planets of our solar system. Nearly 50 years later, and the journey of the probes from Earth continues into interstellar space–perhaps one of mankind’s biggest success stories in space travel (to date).
