The photograph, recently released by the European Space Agency (ESA), shows with remarkable precision a galactic structure filled with star clusters, dust clouds and active regions of star formation.
The new observation represents a unique opportunity for astronomers to study the life cycle of stars in a galaxy with characteristics similar to those of the Milky Way. In the image, multiple clusters can be seen where new stars are born from the collapse of gigantic clouds of gas and dust in the interstellar medium.
