A massive iceberg traveled 900 miles from northeastern Greenland before drifting into the Denmark Strait, where it began breaking apart.
Today’s Image of the Day from NASA Earth Observatory features an unusually large iceberg drifting through the Denmark Strait after traveling hundreds of miles from northeastern Greenland.
By the time Landsat 9 photographed the berg on June 12, 2026, it had entered the waters between Greenland and Iceland.
