The use of automatic license plate readers by law enforcement and private businesses have increased in recent years, along with privacy concerns and scrutiny of those cameras.
Flock operates one of the largest network of automatic license plate reader (ALPR) cameras, and, conservatively, is used by at least 70 law enforcement agencies across North Carolina. The Georgia-based company would not share details about its operations in North Carolina.
