Millions were impacted by last week’s multi-day severe weather outbreak across the central U.S., with tornadoes reported in parts of Texas and Oklahoma. Today, the severe threat shifts into the Mississippi and Ohio Valleys. Large hail, widespread damaging wind gusts, and strong tornadoes are all possible.
Multi-Day Severe Outbreak Continues
A developing low-pressure system over the Plains is pulling warm, humid Gulf air northward while a cold front pushes east. Strong upper-level winds will help storms rotate and organize.
Numerous severe thunderstorms are expected, especially from central Missouri into southern Illinois, where the setup is most favorable for stronger storms.
