SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – Recent flooding and rain have caused local rivers to test high for E. coli, and while most public bodies of water are tested for this, personal ponds or pools can get overlooked.
We tested some of Lake Springfield’s water using a do-it-yourself bacteria test. Testing is simple. Collect some water, add a powder, shake it, and wait. The kits can be used on ponds, rivers, and pools. They check for harmful bacteria like E. coli.
