Market development manager Jake Liening is leaving the Washington Grain Commission to become a pilot for the Oregon Air National Guard.
Liening joined the commission in September 2024. His last day was April 28.
He will undergo training during the next three years to fly the F-35A.
“I always had a desire to serve our country in a way that would make a tangible difference, and once I learned about the opportunity to become a military aviator, I began working toward that goal,” Liening told Capital Press.
