New research has found that microplastics have transitioned from a mere waste issue into active geophysical forces altering the Arctic climate.
The latest scientific review published in the journal ENGINEERING Environment was undertaken by researchers from Tongji University, the Norwegian Polar Institute and The Arctic University of Norway. The study maps how these synthetic particles infiltrate northern ecosystems and accelerate warming.
