QUAD CITIES, Iowa (KWQC) – Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird says scams have been on the rise over the past few years.
Bird was in Davenport Tuesday at a “Stop the Scammers” event, which aims to teach people about scams and how to avoid them.
While scammers may target any Iowan, Bird said people over 50 are at risk as scammers go after their home equity, retirement accounts and savings.
