The risk of severe thunderstorms is growing across the Southern Plains and Lower Mississippi Valley for Mother’s Day. The Storm Prediction Center has noted an area from Texas to Alabama where there is a slight risk (level 2 out of 5) for severe thunderstorms to end the weekend. These storms could bring all the hazards, including damaging winds, heavy rain, large hail and a tornado or two.
Of course, these storms are likely to put a damper on any outdoor plans people in the region may have for their mom.
